Fenn approached Thistle with a proposition. "Thistle, I have heard of your cleverness. I propose a game. You will place a basket of your favorite fruits on the edge of the clearing, and I will come to collect them each evening. But, Thistle, if you are ever found in my territory, you must leave my fruits untouched. How does that sound?"

Thistle, knowing the risks involved, agreed to the game. "It sounds fair enough. But Fenn, if you are ever found in my territory, you must leave my fruits untouched as well."

Fenn chuckled. "Agreed, Thistle. Now, let's begin."

Each evening, Thistle placed a basket of his favorite fruits on the edge of the clearing. Fenn came to collect them, and Thistle watched him with a mixture of suspicion and curiosity. Sprout nodded. "We will be cautious."

That night, Thistle and Sprout returned to Thistle's territory. As they were resting, Thistle overheard Fenn's voice. "I've been watching you two. You think you can outsmart me, but you're wrong. I will get you both."

Thistle's heart sank. He knew that Fenn was not to be trusted, and he realized that he had been fooling himself. Thistle had placed his trust in Fenn, and Fenn had used that trust to his advantage.

The next morning, Thistle found Fenn waiting for him at the edge of the clearing. "Thistle, I've decided to end our game. I've seen your kindness, and I don't deserve it. I want to make amends."

Thistle, still cautious, asked, "How can you make amends, Fenn?"

Fenn smiled. "I will leave you alone. I will not come to your territory, and I will not harm you or your family."

Thistle hesitated for a moment, then nodded. "Agreed, Fenn. But I must warn you, if you ever break your word, I will not hesitate to protect myself and my family."

Fenn nodded. "I understand, Thistle. I will keep my word."

From that day on, Thistle and Fenn lived in harmony, each respecting the other's territory and boundaries.
